TSS Live Calls- June 15

Call No. 1: AMD 64 RAM
Andrew in Honolulu, HI, wants t upgrade his computer to 1GB of RAM. He is using a AMD 64 CPU. What kind of memory should he buy? If you bought a preconfigured PC, you can use the memory configurators at resellers like Crucial. If you built your PC, check your motherboard specifications for what RAM you should use.

Call No. 2: LAN motherboard
Peyton in Dallas, Tex., saw an advertisement for a LAN motherboard. What’s a LAN motherboard? Patrick and Yoshi say it’s just a marketing way of saying that a motherboard has a networking card built into the motherboard. If you are putting together a computer, based you motherboard on the CPU you are using.

Call No. 3: cable box mod
Luis in Long Beach, Calif., wants to know if he can mod his cable box tp get the blocked channels. You don’t actually own that cable box; it’s property of the cable company. You are simply borrowing it as long as you subscribe to the cable service. Modding the box would probably violate your service agreement. Besides, that would be theft. Don’t steal.
